The Human Rights Committee is designed to promote advocacy and consent for the people who take psychotropic medication and/or restrictions. The committee is made up of people in the mental health field, special education, board certified behavior analysts, parents/family members and people supported. Below are links to medications that are considered psychotropics through DDSN, restrictions and HRC paperwork.

Psychotropic drug reviews are required by DDSN to be completed quarterly. Dr. Thompson with TEAM
Health provides services to the majority of the people supported. If a person supported wants to see an
outside provider, they are still required to attend a PDR to meet the standard in care. The Clinical team
manages the appointments, ordering/recieving labs, and graphs behavioral data from ISP data in
Therap. Each PDR session involves, psychiatrist, pharmacist, behaviorist, person supported, staff and
legal guardian (if applicable). Below is a list of what DDSN considers psychotropic medication as well as a
referral to Dr. Thompson.

Currently, the Clinical team is focusing on training in homes to help support the homes where they are.
However, if a person supported is displaying aggressive behavior towards others or self-injurious
behavior and you would like for them to be considered for a behavior support plan, please see the link
below.
The Clinical team at Charles Lea were awarded a large grant from The Charles Lea Foundation to provide
payment for therapy services. We have a few organizations that have been open to working with people
supported at Charles Lea. However, if the person supported has a specific therapist in mind, we will
work with them to set up services. If you know of a person supported who is interested in therapy,
please fill out the link below and Caroline Lybrand will reach out to coordinate services.
